Sophie Bille Brahe

Fine Jewellery designer Sophie Bille Brahe was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a child she always dreamt of becoming a jeweller, hammering her first pieces in a workshop built for her at her school. Sophie initially trained as a goldsmith in Denmark before completing her Masters in Fine Jewellery Design at the Royal College of Art in London.

Encouraged by fashion insiders, Sophie went on to launch her Fine Jewellery label in 2011 with a debut collection created by hand using centuries-old goldsmith techniques. The collection which premiered Sophie’s now signature style, was the Croissant de Lune.

Sophie’s love of storytelling is inherent, passed down through generations, beginning with her ancestor, the radical astronomer Tycho Brahe. Sophie begins each new collection by immersing herself in a world of inspiration. Her references, which often come from her fascination with the night sky and the ocean, continue to evolve each season and range from Ancient Egyptian constellations to Venetian mythology.
