Our Point of View

The Oblong is one of Bao Bao Issey Miyake's most enduring silhouettes — a structured rectangular form built entirely from the label's signature triangular PVC panels, each one hinged at its edges to create a surface that shifts and catches the light with every movement. Worn over the shoulder on a slim flat strap, it balances architectural rigidity with a surprisingly supple, almost tactile quality that makes it as functional as it is sculptural.
